Visual Stories 2026 Boskovice: Show your view of the town

Every competition evolves and grows over time—and so does the Visual Stories project. Visual Stories is a visual competition linked to the Open House architecture festival. Its goal is to capture the city, architecture, and public space through the personal perspectives of the artists. Last year, for example, sixteen European cities participated. Brno and Prague are traditional participants, and Boskovice is joining them this year!

Last year, we focused on intergenerational dialogue; this year’s edition explores the theme “Cities in Flux.”

Do you notice the transformations in the architecture and city around you? Or do you simply enjoy photographing architecture and public spaces? Join us and capture this year’s festival theme through your own lens.

Prize:

The best author will receive prizes and have their work presented as part of the Visual Stories: Open House Brno 2026 exhibition. The winner will also receive a final prize—a trip to the Open House Brno partner festival in Vienna or Zagreb (expenses will be covered only partially).

Selected works will also be featured in an online publication and on the Open House Brno website.

At the end of the year, three exceptional visual stories will be selected, and their authors will be invited to the opening of the Visual Stories: Open House Brno 2026 exhibition.*

*The visual stories of all selected participants will be presented at the exhibition. The three selected authors will be invited to the opening. The main prize is from Open House Brno: coverage of most of the costs associated with travel and accommodation. Visual stories by artists under 18 will also be exhibited and included in the online catalog; however, if they win the trip, they must be accompanied by an adult family member, whose expenses will not be covered.
